Dr. Michael Smith graduated from medical school in Ohio and completed his residency training at the Cleveland Clinic in Anesthesiology. During his 18-year tenure at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Smith had the opportunity to teach hundreds of physicians-in-training about resuscitation techniques and managing crisis situations.
After his work in residency training, Dr. Michael Smith was interested in learning more about designing and implementing effective educational programs, so he completed a Masters of Education at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Dr. Smith believes that critical event training and preparedness are essential elements in allowing for the best possible outcome in a crisis situation. Very frequently, in educational settings, the teachers are the first adults on the scene of a critical event, and this allows them to serve as first responders in saving their students’ lives.
Training programs such as BLS4Teachers can provide some of the essential knowledgebase that will allow first responders to provide for the best possible outcomes in critical situations. Dr. Smith, and our entire team, is proud that you have selected us to provide your training in this essential knowledge domain.
