Infant CPR
Overview
- Recall the Adult CPR and AED objectives, focusing on the first three links in the AHA Chain of Survival.
- Recall that the primary differences between Child and Infant CPR are for a victim who is less than 1 year old:
- Rather than using the palm of one hand and steadying yourself with the other hand, you use two fingers to compress the chest.
- Rather than a depth of two inches, compressions should be only one and a half inches deep.
- Recall that for infants (less than1 year of age) a manual defibrillator is preferred.
